Description
The three registers of the clarinet are explained and illustrated, with some terminology explained. The three main patterns of fingering which are applied when crossing between the registers are illustrated; they will be referred to throughout the rest of this series of lessons. Playing scales for a compass of a twelfth is explained, and the scales of C major and A minor are presented. Exercise 5 is designed to assist with the development of fingering to cross between the registers smoothly. Practice Plan 4 incorporates all material so far covered.
