The fingerings the Ab major scale has in common with Eb major are demonstrated and the use of fifth finger keys in the scale is fully explained. The C# rule reappears as the Db rule, and the break fingerings are covered by Exercise 45, after which the scale of Ab major is presented with fingerings indicated. The similarity and important differences of fingering in Ab major and C# minor are discussed. The use of left-hand C in the arpeggio is exercised and the arpeggio is presented with fingerings indicated. Practice Plan 26 incorporates all the material so far covered.
